Lab. Sella Farmaceutici is an Italian company that, since 1920, has been led by the founder's family and operates both nationally and internationally. It produces and distributes more than 100 Sella-branded products — medicines, medical devices, food supplements and cosmetics — in Italy and in over 10 countries worldwide.
At the end of 2023, Sella joined the industrial project «Progetto Benessere» to strengthen its investments in quality, innovation and technology, with the goal of becoming a leading CDMO in the manufacturing of healthcare products.
Together with the other companies in the Group, the goal is to establish itself as a benchmark CDMO, becoming a reliable partner in the Italian and global market for the manufacturing of medicines, medical devices, supplements and cosmetics, offering a full-service approach from formulation to industrial scale-up thanks to state-of-the-art technologies.
Facilities and production capabilities
Lab. Sella's activity is authorised by AIFA, the Italian Medicines Agency, and is legally enabled for the manufacturing and import of medicines for human use, as well as the production of food supplements, medical devices and cosmetics.

Six independent filling lines for liquids, two complete lines for semi-solids, a high-performance line for suppositories and dedicated lines for microenemas.

Production lines in detail
Production facility with over 6,000 sqm of dedicated area, 120 employees and an annual capacity of more than 14 million packages.
- Liquids: 2,000–4,000 litre dissolvers with 6 independent filling lines for different formats and bulk
- Semi-solids: 2 DUMEK 1,000 litre turbo-emulsifiers + 2 fillers for single-dose and multi-dose tubes
- Medicated and pharmaceutical sticks (e.g. aciclovir lipstick)
- Suppositories: 1 complete high-performance aluminium line for glycerin
- Ovules and medicated suppositories: complete line with independent utilities
- Microenemas: 2 complete filling and packaging lines (pharmaceuticals and medical devices)
- Solids: powder formulations, tablets in blister and bottle

Ready-to-market portfolio for out-licensing
Sella Farmaceutici is building a portfolio of finished products ready to be licensed to pharmaceutical companies and distributors worldwide. The products — complete with registration dossier and clinical studies — are ready for distribution and commercialisation under the customer's brand.
We support our partners with all the regulatory activities required to register the products in target markets, providing documentation aligned to the requirements of the target countries.

CUAMM — Doctors with Africa
Support to the NGO founded in Padua in 1950 that promotes the right to health and access to healthcare services in developing countries, with long-term cooperation programmes in Africa.
Photovoltaic Plant
Following the 2010 expansion, a solar energy plant was installed with an annual production of 77,000 kWh, reducing CO₂ emissions and external electricity consumption.

Since 2020, Sella Farmaceutici has supported the Città della Speranza Foundation with annual donations to researchers and analytical projects that innovate paediatric therapies.
